Patio Doors
Patio doors are wonderful inventions. They open up the outside in ways no other window can, let fresh air and sunshine in, and they made backyards, patios and decks seem almost like another outside room in the house. |

Custom Built provides 3 styles of high-quality patio doors: Imperial, Royalwood, and North American. |

Imperial Patio Door
•Energy Efficiency - Older versions of patio doors were made before energy efficiency was a major concern. Our Imperial vinyl patio doors have dozens of carefully engineered barriers placed between the elements and the inside of your home.
•Security - Another major concern of older patio door designs was the ease with which patio doors could be forced or jimmied. The locks were generally flimsy, and poorly engineered afterthoughts. The Imperial Cam Lock Design is among the best locking mechanisms found on any door or window of any kind. Together with an optional outside key lock, the door will make any attempt at forced entry a waste of time.
•Ease of Operation - Most patio doors are located near decks, patios or porches. During warmer months, these areas are used frequently, and if a homeowner has to struggle with a balky patio door, it takes away from the entire family's enjoyment of easy access to the outside. Imperial's design overcomes this with its innovative stainless steel rollers. There are sets of double-wheeled rollers, encased in a reinforcing aluminum extrusion, at each corner of the bottom of the sliding panel. As the sliding panel is moved back and forth, each set of wheels is allowed to pivot slightly to adjust constantly to the different pressures exerted on the panel. This is not unlike the way independent suspension smooths out the ride in an automobile.
Features and Options
•Insulation - 7/8" double pane insulated glass tempered especially for patio door safety.
•Operation - Screen panel "floats" on a heavy-duty aluminum track, with two sets of spring-loaded ball bearing rollers at top and bottom, to eliminate the annoying sticking, balky, and troublesome operation of conventional patio screen door designs.
•Security - Anti-take-out blocks mean that door panels can't be lifted out, unless you want them out. Outside key locks are also available.
•Glass Options - Tempered glass standard with Low-E and Argon gas. Doors available with colonial or diamond grid options as well.
•Color Options - White or Beige vinyl.

North American Patio Door
The North American aluminum patio door is a popular option for finishing off porch enclosures due to its affordability and unique design.
Features
•Inter-loc Screen - Sliding screens of all North American Doors interlock with the aluminum frame of the sliding glass panels
•No-Jump Screen - The screen slides in a pocket in the door header. The common fault of screens sticking and jumping off the track is eliminated with the North American special pocket design. Also, because the screen slides in a special inner pocket, the rollers are protected from damage when the builder is setting finish.
•Pocket Sill - All of the North American Sliding panels are sealed three separate times and with a wood piple weatherstripping at the sill AND the sliding panel is set in a special pocket design, making for absolutely weathertight sill construction, so important in the New England climate.
•Fin-Trim - One of the most important additional features of the Sliding Glass Door is the application of Fin-Trip to the master frame of the door. This provides for quick, easy and tight installation of the North American Sliding Glass Door.
